Job summary

Grade Potential Tutoring is seeking an in-person tutor for an 11th-grader in Chula Vista, focusing on AP Chemistry and AP Physics. The tutor will reinforce current coursework, target challenging concepts, and build confidence through tailored instruction at the student’s home near Eastlake.

Sessions are 1.5 hours, twice weekly, between 4pm and 10pm, with travel within a 5–10 mile radius. A teaching certification is preferred; you’ll use your own materials and logging/invoicing platform.

About the student

• The student is an11th-grader currently taking AP Chemistry and AP Physics. The student islooking for additional academic support as she prepares for upcoming courseworkand assessments. She has been struggling with the class in general and wouldbenefit from additional instruction to strengthen her understanding of thematerial, clarify challenging concepts, and build greater confidence with APChemistry. The student wants 1 tutor to help her with both courses.
  
• The student’sgoal is to become more comfortable with AP Chemistry & Physics and developa stronger understanding of the material so she can be successful in thecourse. Tutoring will focus on reviewing current classwork, preparing forupcoming assessments, addressing areas of difficulty, and helping her developeffective problem-solving and study strategies that she can use throughout theschool year.
  
• The student wants 1.5 hoursessions 2 times a week between 4pm-10pm any day Monday through Friday.
  
• The familywants to meet in-person with the tutor at their home in Chula Vista next to Eastlake.
  

Requirements

REQUIRED

• You have experience teaching/tutoring.
• You are willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles).
• Due to insurance requirements, applicant must not be a minor.
  
• Tutor needs to be available for1.5 hoursessions 2 times a week between 4pm-10pm any day Monday through Friday.
