Calvert County Government’s Department of Parks and Recreation seeks a grounds maintenance worker to support daily golf course upkeep under the Golf Course Superintendent’s supervision.
Responsibilities include operating mowers, blowers, irrigation equipment; cleaning machinery; trimming trees and shrubs; watering turf; and maintaining restrooms and common areas.
Assists in the daily maintenance and preparation of the golf course under the supervision and direction of the Golf Course Superintendent.
Safely operates equipment such as mowers, blowers, irrigation equipment and other golf course maintenance related equipment.
Cleans machinery after each use.
Reports machinery/equipment problems to immediate supervisor.
Cuts grass, weeds and bushes; Rakes leaves.
Trims trees and bushes and removes cuttings.
Waters turf grass as necessary.
Loads and unloads materials.
Collects litter and empties garbage cans.
Fills and distributes water coolers.
Cleans golf course restrooms.
Performs related work as required.
Knowledge of--
Ability to--
Completion of the tenth grade.
Six (6) months experience working in golf course, park, landscape, or general grounds maintenance.
Valid driver’s license.
Must be 18 years of age.
Subject to background investigation.
Work requires strenuous physical effort to perform manual work involving walking over rough, uneven terrain, repeated bending, climbing, crouching, stopping, stretching, reaching or lifting objects up to 100 pounds.
