Job summary

Jobtailor in Oregon is seeking a program coordinator to work with participants, applicants, and community partners to implement program objectives. You will coordinate peers and partners, respond to referrals, provide orientation and ongoing support, and help sustain internship sites and referral networks.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, lived experience with SUD or mental health challenges, and a valid Oregon driver’s license; flexibility and collaborative teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree with 1–2 years of relevant work experience or high school diploma with 3–4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Background check conducted per policy.
  • Pre‑Hire Drug Screen required for all potential employees.
  • Identifies as having lived experience in recovery with SUD and/or mental health challenges.
  • At least 24 months of continuous recovery with SUD and/or mental health challenges before employment.
  • Understands trauma‑informed care, recovery, consumer‑involvement.
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License preferred.
  • Access to reliable personal vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Director, program participants, applicants, and community partners to implement program objectives.
  • Coordinate the work of Project PEER participants and community partners to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Respond to incoming referrals and general inquiries about Project PEER.
  • Provide program orientation and ongoing support and modeling to Project PEER participants throughout the project lifespan.
  • Conduct community outreach to potential referrers and internship sites.
  • Identify and engage referral or internship providers.
  • Coordinate information sessions.
  • Educate referral providers about Project PEER so that they can make suitable referrals within grant parameters.
  • Cultivate relationships with outside agencies, including peer‑delivered services agencies in the area and across Oregon.
  • Support professional working relationships with key partners throughout the state and conduct outreach to build a key partner pool of internship sites.
  • Provide administrative support through arranging logistics for virtual meetings and facilitating monthly connection opportunities for participants and experiential learning/internship site partners.

Requirements
  • Associate’s degree and 1-2 years of relevant work experience OR a high school diploma and 3-4 years of relevant work experience
  • A criminal background check will be conducted by The Peer Company in accordance with The Peer Company’s background check policy
  • Pre‑Hire Drug Screen: As part of The Peer Company's commitment to fostering a safe, productive, and professional workplace, we require pre‑hire drug screening for all potential employees
  • Identifies as having lived experience in recovery with substance use disorder (SUD) and/or mental health challenges
  • Has at least 24 months of continuous, sustained recovery with SUD and/or mental health challenges before employment
  • Understands the principles of trauma‑informed care, recovery, consumer‑involvement
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance preferred
  • Access to reliable personal vehicle preferred
