Job summary

EJ is seeking a Material Handler at our Phoenix, NY branch to support warehousing and distribution operations. You will move materials, load and unload using forklift, and help ensure accurate handling and safety.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. We offer a generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401K and life insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Forklift certification preferred; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Promote company safety culture and comply with policies.
• Read work orders and move materials as directed.
• Load/unload materials from pallets or trucks, using forklift.
• Operate forklift to move materials and assist with loading/unloading.
• Maintain clean work area and report hazards.

SUMMARY

Supports and assists the sales function by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.
• Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement with regard to a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.
• Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets and trucks by hand or forklift. Installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
• Lifts heavy objects by hand or with forklift, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment.
• Operates forklift to assist in loading/unloading or moving materials and products.
• Works an 8-hour shift with 30 min. lunch break.
