Job summary

Smith Mountain Lake Health & Rehab Center is hiring for a full-time HR/Payroll Administrator to support the community with payroll processing and HR tasks. You will assist with recruitment, onboarding and retention while ensuring regulatory compliance and payroll accuracy.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least two years of payroll/HR experience, with preferred background in long-term care. Competitive benefits and on-site work at our Moneta, VA facility are included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years' payroll and/or HR administration experience.
• Working knowledge of payroll regulations (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, unemployment).
• Ability to navigate HRIS software with intermediate skills.
• Experience in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting preferred.

Position Summary:

The primary purpose of your job is to administer and perform human resources/payroll functions to the community in accordance with current acceptable accounting principles relating to operations, state and federal regulations, and as directed by the Administrator. Assist with recruitment, onboarding and retention of employees.

Education/Qualifications:

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have, as a minimum, two (2) year(s) experience in Payroll and/or HR Administration.
• Must possess a working knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning payroll/personnel administration in nursing care facilities, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, Workers' compensation & unemployment.
• Must possess intermediate computer skills and ability to navigate through HRIS software.
• Previous skilled nursing/long-term care experience preferred.

Shift & Wage:

• Wage: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
