Job summary

Southern Company Services is seeking a senior HR Business Partner to drive leadership effectiveness, culture, and talent strategy across a population of 1800+ employees, partnering with executives (SVP and above).

You will lead a team of four HR Partners, translating business needs into HR programs, analyzing data for decisions, and ensuring strong client relationships while maintaining professional excellence and delivering impactful HR services.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Human Resources or related fields preferred.
  • 7–10 years of HR business partner experience required.
  • Supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor 4 HR Business Partners.
  • Support an 1800+ employee population and work with executives (SVP and above).
  • Design and drive policy and program implementation across leadership development, culture, performance management, talent development and succession planning, compensation and benefits.
  • Partner with leadership to execute the organization’s HR and talent strategy including recruiting, retention and succession planning.
  • Provide data insights to leaders to drive better decision making.
  • Build and maintain credible client relationships and deliver high-quality HR services.

Job description

  • This role will support an 1800+ employee population
  • Must be comfortable working with company executives (SVP and above)
  • Designs and drives policy and program implementation including leadership effectiveness/development, culture, performance management, talent development/ succession planning, compensation, and benefits, etc.
  • Partner with leadership teams to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Will provide data insights to leaders and other HR professionals to drive better decision making
  • A student of the utility industry and HR discipline to offer best practices and knowledge to improve client support
  • Maintain a work environment that emphasizes professional excellence, teamwork, client satisfaction and personal growth
  • Must effectively partner with Corporate Partners and peer HR Delivery teams
  • Will guide and develop a team of HR Business Partners
  • Uses knowledge to predict needs of the business and applies that knowledge to build solutions for their clients

  • Consulting, coaching, strategic/critical thinking, influencing, conflict resolution, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience with major HR disciplines (employee relations, succession planning, benefits, compensation, employment law, performance management, affirmative action, workforce planning, leadership development, HR policies/practices, laws/regulations, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze information and drive business insights
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to diplomatically offer objective and creative solutions
  • Ability to respect and maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • High level of personal initiative/responsibility, results oriented, self-directed
  • Ability to champion and influence change and a willingness to take risks
Experience
