The HR Manager is responsible for facilitating all basic Human Resources functions and provides guidance, support and recommendations to Chief Finance and Operations Officer. Manage human resource issues, including onboarding/offboarding staff, benefits and payroll. Evaluate, analyze and interpret employee data with an eye toward improving processes, effectiveness and employee morale. Provide support to employees on all employment and benefits matters. Improve and effectively coordinate employee policies, processes, and practices. Report and ensure compliance standards and filings are effectively implemented. The HR Manager is encouraged to discuss with management, opportunities for professional and social involvement with school and student activities.

4+ yrs experience, in an Independent School environment preferred
Professional certification preferred
Working knowledge of HR principles and practices including but not limited to employee benefits, payroll practices, compliance laws and regulations
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and compliance that apply to HR and payroll programs including FLSA, FMLA, COBRA, ACA, & 403(b)
Ability to maintain highly confidential and sensitive information
Proficiency with HRIS systems, preferably Paycor
Superior level of detail orientation, accuracy and sense of urgency
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Gmail, Google Drive, Shared Docs and Sheets or Microsoft equivalent)
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work effectively with others
Ability to work independently
Ability to interact with a professional demeanor with staff, general public, and school personnel
Effective prioritization and time management skills
Ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure
Change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, working with others as part of a team, and irregular schedule may be required at times.
