Job summary

Professional Search Group is seeking an HR Manager to serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership, guiding workforce matters and ensuring consistent HR practices in line with federal, state, and local laws. The HR Manager will partner with leadership to drive performance and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive HR experience.
  • Experience managing multiple HR functions independently.
  • Supervisory or HR leadership experience preferred.
  • HR certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Model and exemplify company values of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Manage HR policies, procedures, programs, and practices.
  • Update Employee Handbook and HR documentation to reflect needs and requirements.
  • Guide managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, and policies.
  • Oversee recruitment and hiring for exempt, nonexempt, and temporary roles, including onboarding.
  • Lead onboarding/outboarding processes, orientation, exit interviews, and separations.
  • Support performance management processes and system improvements.
  • Assist with compensation analysis and market reviews.
  • Coordinate employee recognition, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, communications, enrollment, and vendor coordination.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll and resolve payroll questions.
  • Manage leave programs including FMLA and Colorado FAMLI and other leave rules.
  • Handle unemployment claims and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain required reporting (EEO-1).
  • Maintain HRIS records, employee files, and confidentiality.

Job description

The HR Manager serves as a trusted resource to employees and leadership, providing guidance on workforce matters, supporting organizational objectives, and ensuring Human Resources practices are administered consistently and in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.

Position Responsibilities
  • Model and exemplify the company's core values of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Manage and administer Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and practices across the organization.
  • Maintain and update the Employee Handbook, HR policies, procedures, and related documentation to reflect organizational needs and applicable employment requirements.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding employee relations, performance management, corrective action, company policies, workplace concerns, and HR best practices.
  • Manage recruitment and hiring activities for exempt, nonexempt, and temporary positions, including job postings, candidate selection, interviews, offers, pre-employment processes, and onboarding.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including new-hire orientation, exit interviews, and coordination of employee separations.
  • Administer and support the company’s performance management processes and systems, including PPMS, employee evaluations, and related programs, and recommend improvements as appropriate.
  • Support compensation programs, including compensation reviews, market analysis, and related initiatives.
  • Champion, coordinate, and support employee recognition, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including employee communications, eligibility and enrollment changes, invoice review, vendor coordination, and resolution of benefit-related issues.
  • Prepare, process, review, and distribute semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of payroll-related questions and discrepancies.
  • Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, Colorado FAMLI, and other applicable leave requirements, ensuring appropriate documentation, communication, and compliance.
  • Manage unemployment claims and related documentation and responses.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommend updates to HR practices and policies as needed.
  • Coordinate required employment reporting and recordkeeping, including EEO-1 reporting and other applicable compliance requirements.
  • Maintain HRIS records, employee files, organizational charts, and HR reporting while ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and appropriate record retention.
Essential Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to independently manage multiple Human Resources functions, projects, and priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources practices, employment laws and regulations, employee relations, and HR administration.
  • Sound judgment and demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, advise, and collaborate with employees and leadership at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, time‑management, and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to approach employee matter professionally, objectively, consistently, and with sound judgment.
  • Ability and willingness to embrace and effectively leverage AI and other emerging technologies to enhance productivity, decision‑making, and Human Resources processes.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and translate HR needs into practical and effective solutions.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible professional Human Resources experience, including experience independently managing multiple HR functions.
  • Previous experience in an exempt-level Human Resources role preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or HR leadership experience preferred.
  • Professional HR certification, such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP, preferred.
