Job summary

Athens-Clarke County is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to plan, organize and implement government-wide HR programs within the Employment Division of the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include researching, analyzing, coordinating and administering HR initiatives across the division.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in HRM or related field with two years of HR experience, SHRM certification preferred, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • SHRM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, monitors, and oversees the activities within the assigned division.
  • Provides professional staff support to departments, which includes interpreting laws, rules, regulations and policies related to human resources programs and makes recommendations for policy and procedural changes.
  • Assists in developing and implementing departmental budget, goals and objectives; implements and maintains assigned program area procedures; evaluates effectiveness of programs, including researching, analyzing, and recommending policy or program changes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
