Job summary

Imperial Distributors, Inc. is seeking an HR Generalist to partner with our Worcester distribution center. You will support full cycle HR, drive process improvements, and advise on employee relations and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

The role includes onboarding, interviewing candidates, coordinating benefits, investigations, events, and travel to Millis, MA as needed. Collaboration with leaders is essential to grow our people and processes.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years HR experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field
• PHR, SPHR, CP, or SCP Certification preferred
• Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft platforms and UKG HRIS
• Self-motivated with strong initiative
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including presenting in group settings
• Effective time management, interviewing and prioritization skills
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of labor laws, federal/state laws, and HR practices
• Strong global and cultural awareness to support a diverse workforce
• Ability to adapt in fast-paced, changing environments

Responsibilities

• Support full-cycle HR within the Distribution Center.
• Drive process improvements and mitigate business risk.
• Advise on employee relations and compliance.
• Interview candidates and coordinate with hiring managers.
• Coordinate onboarding, background checks, drug testing.
• Travel monthly to Millis, MA for business needs.
• Provide backup to HR staff and cross-functional support.
• Develop employee relations, retention, and rewards programs.
• Assist Benefits Coordinator with benefits questions.
• Conduct internal investigations with HR Manager.
• Support company events (Awards Banquet, Holiday Party, Multi-Cultural Day).

• Possess a true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement.
• Handle employee relations and the development of team members, and collaborate with manager when needed.
• Coach and mentor at supervisory level.
• Interview new candidates, collaborate with hiring manager on identifying the ideal candidate, and communicating outcome of interviews to candidates.
• Complete full onboarding process, ensuring all required employment and benefits documentation and information are complete and processed efficiently and effectively; including participating in new hire orientation, administering drug testing, running background checks, and other duties as requested.
• Ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, processes and technology.
• Assists employees with benefits-related questions, and collaborate with Benefits Coordinator.
• Conduct internal investigations and collaborate with HR Manager on certain situations.
• Assist with companywide events/programs (i.e. Annual Awards Banquet; Holiday Party, Multi-Cultural Day).
• Provides backup to other Human Resources staff as needed.
• Success in creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention and reward programs.
• Travel monthly to our second location in Millis, MA.
• Adjust hours to connect with 3 rd shift monthly.
• Other related duties as assigned.
