Job summary

Worthington Enterprises is seeking an HR Generalist to support our Chilton, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. This role partners closely with the onsite HR team to provide day-to-day HR support for a 24/5 operation while helping foster a positive, approachable, and employee-focused workplace culture.

  • 1-3 years of HR experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HR practices and employment laws, with a willingness to continue learning and developing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and partnering with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Manufacturing or multi-shift environment experience preferred, but not required.
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is a plus, but not required.
  • 100% onsite in a manufacturing facility environment.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule and provide regular HR presence across shifts in a 24/5 operation.

Responsibilities

  • Support employees and managers with HR-related questions, concerns, and guidance.
  • Administer employee benefits, onboarding, open enrollment, leave processes, and exit procedures.
  • Review bi-weekly payroll for accuracy and consistency.
  • Support recruiting efforts including candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Assist with employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate HR training programs including OSHA, harassment prevention, and policy education.
  • Process HR and payroll changes, including job changes, compensation updates, and profit-sharing administration.
  • Partner with managers to identify workforce development and training needs.
  • Assist with safety, workers’ compensation, and incident documentation processes.
  • Coordinate employee engagement and recognition activities.
  • Maintain compliance with HR laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide HR presence and support across all shifts as needed.

Job description

Worthington Enterprises is seeking an HR Generalist to support our Chilton, Wisconsin manufacturing facility. This role partners closely with the onsite HR team to provide day-to-day HR support for a 24/5 operation while helping foster a positive, approachable, and employee-focused workplace culture.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and passionate about building trusting relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. We are looking for someone who creates a welcoming HR environment where employees feel comfortable seeking guidance, asking questions, and sharing concerns. Some prior HR experience is preferred, but extensive experience is not required; this is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to continue building their HR skills in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

This position is primarily Monday-Friday; however, flexibility is essential. The successful candidate must be willing and able to adjust their schedule periodically to be present and accessible to employees and leaders on off-shifts.
