Job summary

Hood Container Corporation in Covington, KY seeks a Human Resources Generalist to partner with plant leaders in Covington, KY and Columbus, OH. You will own recruitment, onboarding, and a suite of HR programs while ensuring data integrity in ADP and guiding benefits, leave, and training initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience within Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related preferred.
• Understanding of applicable state and federal employment law.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across levels and geographies.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the full recruitment lifecycle, from attracting top talent to hiring with managers.
• Create a welcoming onboarding experience and foster a positive culture with recognition initiatives.
• Guard employee data accuracy within the HRIS (ADP).
• Tackle HR programs including benefits, leave management, performance support, and morale initiatives.
• Serve as a trusted resource for employment inquiries and elevate complex matters as needed.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; review policies regularly.
• Oversee training programs from safety to anti-harassment to keep the team compliant.
• Partner with the HR Manager on high-level issues and strategic initiatives to grow skills.

How You Will Contribute

• Own the full recruitment lifecycle, from attracting top talent to facilitating a smooth hiring process, collaborating closely with managers to identify their needs.
• Create a welcoming experience for new hires through engaging orientation programs and foster a positive culture with employee recognition initiatives.
• Be the guardian of our employee data, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date within our HRIS (ADP).
• Tackle a variety of HR programs, including benefits administration, leave management, performance support, and initiatives that boost morale and engagement.
• Be a trusted resource for all employment-related inquiries, confidently handling questions and knowing when to elevate complex matters.
• Ensure we're always compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws, proactively reviewing policies to maintain best practices.
• Oversee essential training programs, from safety to anti-harassment, ensuring our team is well-equipped and compliant.
• Accelerate your HR career by partnering with our HR Manager on high-level issues and strategic initiatives, developing both your breadth and depth of skills.

What It Takes

• Experience within Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related, preferred
• Understanding of applicable state and federal employment law
• Agility to effectively manage multiple projects, prioritize accordingly, and thrive in a complex, fast paced work environment
• Ability to build and maintain positive, productive relationships at all levels and geographies throughout the organization
• Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
