Job summary

Walor North America is seeking an HR Generalist to support its Human Resources team at the Columbus facility. You will engage staff, help manage staffing and payroll, and act as the point of contact for employee needs while enforcing company policy.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, experience with HRIS and MS Office, and a commitment to confidentiality. You will collaborate across the organization to implement HR programs and maintain records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Management or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply applicable state and federal employment laws.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong decision-making and adaptability.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • PHR/SHRM certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administer full-cycle talent acquisition for facility assigned.
  • Attend local job fairs to promote the company and attract new talent.
  • Handle onboarding tasks and new hire orientation.
  • Manage uniforms and PPE distribution.
  • Review timecards and process payroll.
  • Conduct exit and stay interviews.
  • Process terminations in a timely manner.
  • Support employees on leaves, compensation, and policy questions.
  • Promote HR programs and maintain documentation.
  • Update job descriptions and assist HR policy implementation.
  • Assist with annual performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with EHS on workers' comp and safety activities.
  • Support employee grievances and investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and retention policies.
  • Maintain HRIS personnel records and respond to reports.
  • Provide and track FMLA/LOA requests.
  • Maintain organizational charts and company directory.
  • Run headcount/turnover reports and other HR metrics.
  • General administrative duties as needed.

HR Generalist

Walor North America is looking for a HR Generalist to join its Human Resources team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting various HR activities throughout the plant, engaging with staff to build rapport and encourage positive employee relations. This position is key to the success of daily operations by supporting and managing staffing levels, payroll and being the point of contact for employee needs, questions and concerns while enforcing company policy.

What you will do
  • Administer full-cycle talent acquisition for facility assigned
  • Attend local job fairs to promote the company and attract new talent on a regular basiHandle all administrative tasks for onboarding and administer new hire orientation
  • Responsible for ordering uniforms and managing distribution of PPE
  • Ensure accurate and timely review of timecards and processing of payroll
  • Conduct exit and stay interviews with employees for the facility assigned
  • Ensure terminations are processed on a timely basis
  • Provide support to employees on various HR-related topics such as leaves, compensation and to resolve any issues that may arise
  • Promote HR programs and policies to foster an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
  • Assist in development and implementation of HR policies
  • Assist with annual employee performance reviews
  • Work with Environmental Health and Safety for Workers’ Compensation claims, post-accident drug screens and other activities as needed
  • Assist with employee grievances and investigations
  • Ensure adherence to applicable local, state and federal regulations and employment laws
  • Maintain personnel records within HRIS system adhering to applicable retention laws and regulations
  • Provide and track FMLA/LOA for employees
  • Maintain company organizational charts and directory
  • Run various reports as needed for headcount/turnover, etc
  • Complete general administration duties including filing, scanning, printing of name badges and managing access
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
What you will bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Management or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply applicable state and federal legislation related to employment law and human resource practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate experience using a high level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of levels within an organization
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions that affect various groups
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • PHR/SHRM certifications are a plus
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of payroll administration
