Job summary

Sysco, a global leader in foodservice distribution, is seeking an HR Professional to support HRBP in implementing local initiatives and talent programs. You will help attract, develop and engage associates to meet business goals across Sysco facilities.

The role involves coordinating core HR processes, onboarding, performance and talent management, and payroll-related activities while ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources management preferred or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred; experience with HRIS systems desirable

Responsibilities

  • Support HRBP to implement local and regional programs
  • Coordinate and conduct new associate orientation and onboarding
  • Administer and review HR processes with attention to federal, state, and local laws
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure accuracy of active/terminated records
  • Provide guidance to associates and supervisors on policies and procedures
  • Support recruitment and staffing plans with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition
  • Assist with payroll-related activities and time-keeping systems
  • Promote inclusive and diverse culture through HR initiatives
  • Assist with employee engagement and retention programs

Summary

Supports HRBP to successfully implement local initiatives and execute assigned local and/or region and corporate programs. Help to create an environment to attract, develop, retain and engage talent throughout the site to deliver business goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with HRBP to execute core HR processes (e.g. performance management, talent management, total rewards, compensation, training and development
  • Execution of transactional core HR processes (e.g. coordinate and conduct new associate orientation, unemployment claims processes, onboarding and exit interviews, transitional return to work, leave administration, OSHA reporting, etc.)
  • Support in reviewing, interpreting, administering and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and company policies and procedures
  • Maintain all personnel files, ensuring accuracy of active/terminated files and contents.
  • Responsible for administrative duties to include copying, filing, posting notices, scanning, and faxing.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to associates and supervisors regarding policy and procedure. Perform employee investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Support hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to support recruitment and staffing plans.
  • Support and maintain e-Time system and payroll-related activities
  • Support HRBP to drive an inclusive and diverse culture
  • Administer programs to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction levels
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • 2-5 years of experience in Human Resources management preferred and/or an equivalent combination of related training and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with major or emphasis in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field preferred. Will consider similar education and work experience in lieu of degree.
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
  • Experience in utilizing HRIS and other people management systems
