Position Overview
A global company is seeking a Senior Global Mobility Specialist to support expatriate employees, international assignments, immigration, relocation, and global HR programs.
This role will serve as a key point of contact for employees, HR teams, business leaders, headquarters in Japan, affiliated companies, and external service providers.
Responsibilities
- Manage global mobility and expatriate programs from onboarding through repatriation and offboarding.
- Coordinate employment-based immigration matters with external counsel, including visa petitions, extensions, transfers, and work authorization tracking.
- Support relocation, expatriate tax, cross-border payroll, compensation, benefits, and assignment-related matters.
- Provide bilingual Japanese/English support between U.S. stakeholders and teams in Japan.
- Advise employees and managers on global mobility policies and complex assignment issues.
- Manage immigration, tax, relocation, and mobility vendors.
- Improve global mobility policies, procedures, workflows, reporting, and controls.
- Support regional and global HR initiatives across affiliated companies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, International Relations, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of HR experience, including 4+ years of direct global mobility, expatriate, international assignment, or employment-based immigration experience.
- Japanese/English bilingual skills required.
- Strong knowledge of immigration, relocation, Form I-9 compliance, expatriate tax, cross-border payroll, compensation, and benefits.
- Experience managing complex mobility cases and working with external counsel and service providers.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting Japanese expatriates or working with stakeholders in Japan strongly preferred.
