Job summary

WM is seeking an Advisor, HR to deliver tactical HR support to individual contributors within assigned business units. The role serves as the first point of contact for employee relations and HR policies, championing WM values to foster trust and engagement among a diverse workforce.

The position provides coaching on policy application, supports performance management, onboarding, and exit interviews, and collaborates with local teams on recruitment and People initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration or similar field.
  • High School Diploma or GED with four years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of related work experience beyond education requirements.
  • Professional HR certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP; CHRP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and counseling to employees on policy application and employment laws.
  • Identify and resolve employee relations issues balancing advocacy with policy compliance.
  • Serve as local People contact for Performance Management, New Hire Orientation and Exit interviews.
  • Conduct trainings on company policy, programs and issues as they arise.
  • Partner with local teams on recruitment outreach efforts.
  • Participate in People-related project teams as assigned.
  • Escalate potential legal, risk, safety concerns to the People Manager.

Job description

I. Job Summary

As a member of the WM People organization. The Advisor, HR is tasked with providing tactical, responsive Human Resources support to individual contributors in assigned business units and/or functions. The position serves as the first point of contact and trusted advisor for employee relations issues and human resources policies and processes. The People advisor will champion, demonstrate and uphold WM Commitments & Values to foster an environment of trust, and employee engagement for a diverse workforce.

  • Provides reliable and timely coaching and counseling to employees on issues to ensure consistent, transparent application of policies, procedures, and employments laws.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve employee relations issues balancing employee advocacy with stewardship of company policies and employment laws.
  • Serves as the local People point of contact supporting/delivering internal processes including Performance Management, New Hire Orientation and Exit interviews.
  • Conducts training on company policy, programs, and other issues as they arise.
  • Partners and participates with local team(s) on recruitment outreach efforts.
  • Serves as an active member of People related project teams as assigned.
  • Apprise and escalates potential legal, risk, safety, etc. concerns to the People Manager.

Must be bilingual

III. Qualifications
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience
  • 2 years of related work experience (in addition to education requirement)
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Human Recourses Professional (CHRP)
