Job summary

ASRC Federal Data Solutions (AFDS) in Mountain View, CA, supports NASA's HPC program at Ames Research Center. We seek a Software Programmer/Developer to join the Infrastructure team, focusing on front-end UI development and AI/ML-enabled components for aerospace research.

The role requires collaboration with government leads, code reviews, and mentoring junior developers, with emphasis on secure coding, CI/CD, and delivering high-quality software for complex HPC systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of software development experience.
5+ years supporting aeronautics R&D activities.
Experience with modern languages (e.g., Java, .NET, Python) and Agile/Scrum; DevSecOps.
5+ years creating front-end user interfaces.
Experience with full-stack software development.

Responsibilities

Design and develop custom front-end user interfaces for workstation, portable, and mobile applications.
Define and implement the necessary components for front-end user interfaces.
Build and maintain a CI/CD pipeline to support coding standards and best practices.
Lead code reviews and collaborative software development processes.
Troubleshoot code and participate in QA/QC activities to ensure quality.
Mentor junior developers and provide feedback during reviews.
Collaborate with government leads and technical staff on aerospace projects.
Design and develop AI/ML-enabled systems for research.
