Job summary

NVIDIA Corporation is seeking an HPC Performance Engineer in the NVHPC group to optimize HPC workloads across CPU and CPU/GPU platforms. You will collaborate with compiler and application teams to deliver effective improvements and port work to diverse platforms with various programming models.

The role emphasizes deep understanding of parallel architectures, performance tuning, and communication of technical tradeoffs.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Science or related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of programming experience.
  • Solid understanding of Fortran, C, C++, and parallel programming techniques.
  • Experience with OpenACC, OpenMP, MPI, CUDA and Standard Language Parallelism.
  • Strong skills in performance analysis and tuning with parallel tools.
  • Strong mathematical fundamentals including linear algebra and numerical methods.
  • Understand performance tradeoffs and impact.
  • Excellent communication, time management and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze effect of different compilers and optimizations on HPC application performance.
  • Evaluate compiler/runtime improvements for CPU and CPU/GPU platforms.
  • Communicate limits of compiler capabilities to guide performance improvements.
  • Port HPC applications to different platforms and programming models.
  • Assess impact of NVHPC components, device drivers, and system configs on performance.
