Job summary

Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a Linux/HPC System Administrator to manage onsite HPC resources, beamline systems, and related services. You will oversee four HPC clusters, GPU nodes, storage appliances, and associated networks to support advanced computational workloads.

Qualifications

Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; multiple years of HPC admin experience preferred.
Experience with Globus, GPU nodes, and HPC cluster management is required.
Strong Linux/Unix administration skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Configure and maintain GPU nodes for computational workloads and optimize GPU utilization.
Administer IBM Storage Scale and Spectrum Scale; manage InfiniBand networking for high availability.
Provide advanced beamline system support and network troubleshooting for Linux-based beamline computers.
Maintain and improve monitoring with Grafana and related tooling for system health.
Manage and optimize PBS Pro scheduler installations for efficient job queuing and resource allocation.
Document configurations, processes, and incident reports; collaborate with researchers and developers.
