Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) offers a paid summer internship in the High Performance Computing Division for 2027. Undergraduates collaborate on challenging HPC projects, guided by a mentor, and gain experience in software engineering and data management at petascale scale.

Selected students can present their progress to colleagues, with exposure to real research, cross-disciplinary teams, and opportunities to contribute to national security related computing efforts.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program (or international equivalent).
• Must have GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
• Minimum of 60 hours completed for related programs.

Responsibilities

• Work on challenging HPC projects under mentor guidance.
• Present project progress to colleagues at the internship end.
• Contribute to research, software engineering, and data management efforts in HPC.
