Job summary
Caely Renewables in Houston seeks a Sales Trader – Carbon Compliance to originate, structure, and execute transactions in North American carbon markets. You will build long‑term client relationships, monitor regulations, and identify opportunities to grow our carbon trading activities.
You will collaborate with risk, legal, operations, and commercial teams to navigate compliance obligations and trading strategies, while representing the company at industry events and supporting business
Qualifications
- Fluent in English; another language is a plus.
- Authorized to work in the United States of America.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, economics, finance, business administration or related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in carbon markets, environmental commodities, energy markets, emissions trading, sales trading, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of North American carbon compliance programs.
- Experience with environmental commodity trading is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to connect regulatory developments to commercial opportunities.
- Willing to relocate to Houston, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Originating, structuring, and executing transactions within regulated carbon markets across North America.
- Build and maintain long‑term client relationships and identify market opportunities.
- Monitor evolving regulatory programs, pricing trends, and policy developments.
- Communicate daily with trading, risk, operations, and management teams.
- Engage with counterparties to understand market needs and commercial objectives.
- Transform market intelligence into actionable trading opportunities.
- Contribute to business development and growth initiatives.
- Assist with post‑trade logistics and transaction management.
- Support product development based on regulatory and market developments.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and stakeholder events.
