Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) in Washington, DC is offering a Spring Internship Program. Interns conduct research, support project analysts, and gain exposure to bipartisan policymaking while building professional networks with staff and interns across DC.

Spring interns work 18 to 20 hours per week and receive a $3,000 stipend paid in two equal installments. In-office presence Tue-Thu with option to work from home Mon and Fri; relocation not provided.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program (rising junior or above), graduate program, or be a recent graduate.
  • Detailed understanding of the legislative process.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Efficient worker with ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Strong interest in housing policy issues, such as homelessness, the Housing Choice Voucher program, and housing finance.

Responsibilities

  • Research, including literature reviews, data collection and analysis, and legislative analysis
  • Writing, including drafting explainers, articles, or one-pagers
  • Crafting newsletters and weekly team communications
  • Attending and summarizing external events and congressional hearings
  • Preparing for and running internal and external events, including the Center's annual housing summit
  • Specific responsibilities will be determined based on the successful candidate’s interests and the needs of the team. In addition to housing-related work, the intern may be asked to assist with projects related to disaster response and transportation policy.
