Job summary

The Salvation Army Panama City Domestic Violence Shelter in Panama City, FL is seeking a Full Time Supervisor to manage day-to-day shelter operations, ensure housing and supportive services, and enforce shelter guidelines. The role requires guiding staff, maintaining compliance with policies, and coordinating with program directors.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least two years in social/public service; two years experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years experience in social or public service environment is preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Successful completion of Domestic Violence Core Competency training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and participates in day-to-day shelter operations on assigned shift, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Orients new clients to the program and prepares case records for case management; records statistics and prepares data reports for funders.
• Responds to crisis via crisis hot-line and provides intervention when applicable.
• Oversees purchasing of food and monitors expenditures to ensure budget compliance.

Schedule/Hours: Monday - Sunday (Varies), some overnight shifts required (40 hours per week)

This position is responsible for:

Supervises and participates in performing the day-to-day activities necessary for the smooth operation of a shelter/house providing housing, food, transportation, counseling, and educational assistance; ensures that paperwork is completed and shelter guidelines are followed by all clients; ensures compliance with The Salvation Army policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises and participates in the day-to-day operations of the shelter/house on an assigned shift; ensures all activities are conducted in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Orients new clients to the program and prepares case records to facilitate case management; records daily statistics; collects all data to create statistical reports for funders. Submits reports to program director and assists in data collection when necessary.
• Answers the crisis hot-line and provides crisis intervention through telephone interviews and client counseling where applicable.
• Supervises and participates in the selection, purchasing of food; monitors expenditures ensuring compliance with budget constraints.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.).
• Work is performed in a normal lodging environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
