Job description
Overview

Housing Case Manager role at OUR SPOT KC. This position works with LGBTQ+ clients in the Lion House Program to support them in eliminating barriers, acquiring necessary documentation, and providing accountability for goals set by clients/residents. The Housing Case Manager attends all necessary meetings and completes the required documentation for services provided.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide housing case management services to all residents of the Lion House Program, using the strengths-based case management approach.
  • Maintain documentation of all services provided.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams, when necessary, to provide the best services possible to Residents.
  • Connect Residents with supportive services and resources, providing a warm hand-off when possible.
  • Interact with Residents, Clients and other professionals in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with Residents and Clients.
  • Meet with clients at least weekly, with phone/text/email in between meetings.
  • Attend all required meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with Our Spot KC and Lion House staff to provide Clients, Residents and community members with the best possible services and programs.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the first day of employment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with operating systems (Windows or MacOS), Office suites (MS or G Suite), presentation software (PowerPoint or similar), Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and other case management software as needed.
  • Be driven, self-starter, accountable, organized, and compassionate.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience in working with LGBTQ+ populations, have worked previously in social services and/or housing sectors.
  • Ability to provide direct services to clients, de-escalation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable access to transportation.
  • Ability to work with a variety of personalities.
