Job summary

Shamin Hotels is looking for a Houseperson to clean and maintain guest rooms, hallways, furnishings and work areas. Duties include changing bed linens, emptying trash, vacuuming carpets, dusting, stocking supplies and assisting room attendants.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, basic reading/writing/math skills, reliable transportation, strong customer service, time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Strip rooms - remove bed linens, terry, and trash.
• Cleans hallways, corridors, elevators, stairways, ice rooms, trash areas, and linen closets.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners.
• Dusts fixtures, frames, and equipment.
• Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets
• Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
• Stocks and delivers supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs.

Position Overview:

The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring and work areas. Cleaning rooms includes duties such as changing bed linens and emptying trash as well as vacuuming carpets and dusting furniture. This person assists room attendants with supplies and linens.

• Reports to work for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Performs other related duties as required.
