Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners is seeking a diligent Housekeeping Associate in Orange Beach, AL to clean corridors and public areas, uphold safety standards, and support guest satisfaction across hotel floors.

The role involves moving supplies, assisting other team members, and addressing guest requests with a friendly demeanor. Prior experience is not required; HS diploma or equivalent is needed, and daily responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No formal experience required for the position.
• Able to push/pull carts and carry items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to communicate hotel services and directions to guests.

Responsibilities

• Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift; remove newspapers and service trays, empty receptacles, remove trash and/or linens.
• Clean all public areas including hallways, elevators, service and vending areas, and stairwells following safety procedures.
• Remove soiled linen and trash from service areas and transport to proper locations.
• Assist section housekeepers with bed boards, roll-aways, and additional linen.
• Fulfill guest requests and address guest problems to ensure satisfaction.
• Report missing articles, damages or mechanical problems to the Supervisor.
• Return articles left in guest rooms to Lost and Found logs.
• Maintain security of equipment, keys, and supplies; perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.

POSITION PROFILE

Clean and maintain all corridors and public areas in accordance with all housekeeping procedures and standards. Uphold all safety and security rules and regulations to ensure guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

• Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift; remove newspapers and service trays, empty receptacles, remove trash and/or linens and note any areas that need immediate cleaning.
• Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following safety and security procedures and regulations to include but not limited to: hallways, elevators, service and vending areas, stairwells, etc.
• Remove soiled linen, terry and trash from the service areas and take to the appropriate locations in the prescribed manner.
• Aid section housekeepers as needed I.e. bed boards, roll-aways, additional linen, etc.
• Fulfill guest requests and handle guest problems/complaints as they may arise to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Report any missing articles, damages or mechanical problems to the Supervisor.
• Turn in all articles left in guest rooms to the Supervisor to log in Lost and Found.
• Secure and maintains custody of equipment, keys and supplies at all times to protect and preserve hotel property. Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
• Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor always.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• No formal experience required for the position.
• Constantly pushing loaded supply cart from room to room, carrying tote tray with replacement amenities from department to assigned floor, arranging drapery and replacement linen, carrying dirty linen to laundry chute, operating vacuum.
• Communicate information, respond to question, and provide directions and hotel services to guests, vendors, staff member and management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend,and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
• Be able to push and pull carts
• Good vision for detailed inspection
• Manual dexterity for handling equipment and machinery in a hot, humid, and noisy environment where chemicals are.
