Dept Behavioral Health/Develop in Virginia is seeking a Housekeeping Worker I at Catawba Hospital to maintain a clean, safe healthcare environment through daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, offices, treatment spaces, and living quarters.

The role requires knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow policies, and a strong focus on infection control, upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Proficient in use of cleaning equipment and supplies, including the preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Knowledge and application of cleaning instructions according to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary healthcare environment through daily cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, administrative offices, treatment spaces, equipment, and living quarters in accordance with hospital policies, OSHA, and EPA guidelines.
• Duties include waste and linen removal, isolation room cleaning, replenishing supplies, sanitizing patient and treatment equipment, supporting special event setups and furniture movement, and ensuring proper handling and storage of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Maintain accurate cleaning documentation, promote workplace safety, communicate effectively with staff and patients, report maintenance or security concerns, and contribute to a professional and welcoming environment through high standards of housekeeping and infection control.
