Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY is seeking a full-time Housekeeping Worker for weekend and holiday coverage. You will maintain cleanliness, support infection control, and provide warm, patient-friendly service to our patients and families.

Shifts run 7:30 am to 3:30 pm on-site, with required registration in the 1199 Job Security Fund. Please note that all roles require on-site presence, and NYP will not reimburse travel expenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–6 months hospital housekeeping experience preferred.
• Extensive customer service experience and a desire to Put Patients First.

Maintain cleanliness and a culture of compassion, caring, warmth and support within our hospital. Spend quality time and build solid relationships with patients and their families. Go above and beyond for patients to deliver superior customer service and ensure their comfort and safety at all times.

This is a Full time position, working days from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, including every Saturday and Sunday. This position will require registration with the 1199 Job Security Fund.

Preferred Criteria

• High school diploma or GED
• 3-6 months of hospital housekeeping experience
• Extensive customer service experience and a desire to Put Patients First.
• Experience in the hotel, restaurant or retail industry.

Required Criteria

• Capable of using equipment and tools necessary for performance of duty
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions
• Must be able to work with patient and bodily fluids/excrement/odors
