Job summary

SMS Clean is seeking a capable janitorial attendant to keep commercial and institutional spaces clean and orderly. You will assist the facilities team with scheduling, perform routine cleaning tasks across rooms, lobbies and restrooms, and operate cleaning equipment including burnishers and scrubbers.

You will also be responsible for moving items and ensuring safe handling of chemicals. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to read instructions and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in janitorial housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Basic math for money, weight and measurements.
• Basic computer skills desired but not required.
• No certifications needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Facility Manager with scheduling.
• Assist with administrative duties.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Lifting chairs and placing them over tables (approx. 20–25 lbs).
• Moving chemicals (5 gal buckets; approx. 40+ lbs).
• Moving tables (approx. 40+ lbs).
• Operates different types of equipment (e.g. burnishers, scrubbers, pressure washer).
• Uses ManLift or ScissorLift Machine.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
