Job summary

Cantex seeks a Housekeeping Director to ensure a clean and safe environment across patient rooms, common spaces, and offices. As Supervisor, you will lead the housekeeping team, manage supplies within budget, and uphold regulatory standards while performing hands-on tasks as needed.

You will coordinate schedules, mentor staff, and participate in ongoing training to maintain high cleanliness and safety standards in a healthcare setting. Excellent communication is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in long-term care or healthcare setting preferred.
• Minimum one year supervisory experience.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise housekeeping activities at the facility.
• Establish a work log or checklist for daily/weekly/monthly tasks.
• Perform direct housekeeping tasks as a working director.
• Maintain inventories of supplies and equipment and ensure equipment is working.
• Keep housekeeping inventory within budget and provide spend-down sheets to Administrator every Friday.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
• Identify and correct potential safety hazards.
• Assist in recruitment, selection and training of aides.
• Schedule departmental hours, personnel, and assignments.
• Complete employee evaluations and provide counsel or disciplinary action as needed.
• Serve on committees as requested by Administrator.
• Demonstrate team leadership and act as a role model.
• Enforce policy on abuse prevention and patient care management systems.
• Attend weekly in-services and uphold patient safety.

Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Housekeeping Director position is to ensure that the Facilitys environment, which includes patient rooms, bathrooms, common space, dining rooms and administrative offices, are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with approved Cantex procedures. As Supervisor, you are delegated the authority and responsibility to assure the Facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner.

Qualifications

Essential Functions

• Plan, schedule and supervise housekeeping activities at the Facility.
• Establish a work log or checklist for daily, weekly, or monthly housekeeping tasks.
• Expected to be a working Director in the department performing direct housekeeping tasks.
• Establish and maintain inventories of housekeeping supplies and equipment and ensure equipment is working.
• Maintains housekeeping supply inventory within budget and to provide spend-down sheets to Administrator every Friday.
• Ensure compliance with applicable governmental regulations and company standards.
• Identify and correct potential safety hazards.
• Periodically assess and make recommendations for equipment replacement and repair.Assists in recruitment, selection, and training of the housekeeping aides as related to their job duties.
• Schedule departmental working hours, personnel, and assignments.
• Complete employee evaluations on either an annual basis or post probationary period; as well as provide counsel or disciplinary action when appropriate.
• Serves on various committees as requested by Administrator.
• Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
• Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employees responsibility to enforce it.
• Attends weekly in-services, understands, and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
