This program covers basic nursing skills, medical terminology, and basic anatomy and physiology to prepare the individual for the State Competency Exam for Certification. There is no cost for the training, and the candidate will be hired as an employee in the Nurse Assistant Trainee position.
The Nurse Assistant Training Program will be a hybrid learning experience consisting of two components: theory training and clinical training. Theory training will be conducted through distance learning utilizing the learning management system of Canvas Instructure and Zoom meetings for live, synchronous instruction with the licensed instructor. After theory training is completed, clinical training will take place at our facility, Lakeside Special Care Center.
Both training courses will be conducted Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for a total of 25 days.
To successfully complete this program, the student must score at least 75% on all tests and the final exam and perform all learned skills satisfactorily. Completion of this program will prepare the candidate with the knowledge and skills needed to take the state test to become certified.
