Job summary

Walnut Grove Care & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead a dedicated team in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents in a long-term care setting.

You will oversee daily duties, train staff, and coordinate environmental services while supporting a compassionate care culture. Prior supervision experience and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in housekeeping or environmental services preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
• Demonstrated ability to schedule and lead a housekeeping team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and schedule a team responsible for cleaning and maintaining a resident-focused environment.
• Direct training and leadership of staff; participate in environmental tasks as needed.
• Perform routine cleaning, floor care, window washing, trash removal, and linen handling.
• Launder linens and prepare bedding; arrange furniture and disinfect surfaces.
• Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, and infection control protocols.

Available Shifts:

• 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Rotation Schedule with 4 days on & 2 days off

Essential Functions of Housekeeping Supervisor:

• Oversee and schedule a team responsible for creating a clean and comforting home for residents in long-term care. In addition to directing, training, and leading the team, the Supervisor will also participate in environmental functions including:
• Sweeping, mopping, and other floor care including spill clean up and regular maintenance.
• Dusting and general pick-up of common areas.
• Washing windows
• Trash collection
• Shampoo and vacuum carpets.
• Arrange furniture and disinfect surfaces.
• Launder linens for residents.
• Prepare bedding.
• Generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications of Housekeeping Supervisor:

• High School Diploma or general equivalency is required
• 1 year of experience is preferred
• Prior experience in a supervisor capacity scheduling, training, and leading teams in supporting housekeeping responsibilities is preferred.
• Candidates must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
• Ability to communicate in English in writing and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff, patient families and any outside customer

• You may frequently be required to stand and walk for long periods of time. The employee must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
