Job OverviewThe Housekeeping Supervisor supports the daily operation of the housekeeping department by inspecting guest rooms and public areas, assigning and following up on work, supporting team members, and helping maintain clean, safe, and welcoming hotel spaces. This guest-facing leadership role works closely with Room Attendants, Housepersons, and other departments to support service standards, timely room readiness, safety practices, and a positive guest experience.Job ResponsibilitiesHousekeeping Operations & InspectionsInspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas, service areas, and assigned housekeeping spaces to help ensure cleanliness, readiness, safety, and brand standards are met.Assign, monitor, and follow up on daily housekeeping work, including guest room cleaning, public area support, linen needs, supplies, and service requests.Coordinate room status updates, priority rooms, checkouts, stayovers, special requests, and maintenance needs with the front office, engineering, and housekeeping team.Assist with cleaning, room readiness, public area upkeep, supply delivery, or other housekeeping tasks when needed to support operations.Team Leadership & Daily SupportProvide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to Room Attendants, Housepersons, and other housekeeping team members.Help ensure team members have the supplies, equipment, assignments, and information needed to complete their work safely and effectively.Support training, onboarding, and reinforcement of hotel standards, safety procedures, service expectations, and housekeeping practices.Guest, Team Member & Visitor ServiceRespond promptly and professionally to guest, team member, and department requests related to cleanliness, room readiness, supplies, service recovery, or maintenance concerns.Maintain a polished, approachable presence in guest-facing areas and represent the hotel in a professional and hospitality-focused manner.Communicate respectfully with guests, team members, vendors, and visitors while supporting a positive and service-oriented environment.Communicate service, supply, cleanliness, or maintenance concerns promptly and appropriately to help maintain a positive guest experience.Safety, Compliance & StandardsMonitor housekeeping standards and help ensure team members follow hotel safety, sanitation, hygiene, chemical handling, linen handling, guest room, restroom, public space, and housekeeping procedures.Help ensure assigned safety equipment is available and used according to hotel procedures when team members work in guest rooms, restrooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, offices, or other designated spaces.Respond to and escalate threatening or unsafe conduct, spills, maintenance hazards, security concerns, injuries, guest concerns, and incidents in accordance with hotel procedures.Support completion of required housekeeping, safety, sanitation, guest room, public area, security response, human trafficking awareness, workplace violence prevention, and service training as assigned.Accurately follow procedures for tracking room status, inspections, assignments, supplies, incidents, maintenance concerns, training completion, and related housekeeping records when required.Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience: Previous hotel housekeeping experience required; prior supervisory, lead, trainer, or inspector experience preferred.Travel required: None.Physical requirements:Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. when assisting with housekeeping operations.Regular walking and standing throughout the shift while inspecting guest rooms, corridors, public areas, service areas, and other housekeeping spaces.Ability to push, pull, or move housekeeping carts, linen carts, cleaning equipment, supply carts, and related materials when assisting the team.Ability to work in various indoor environments with exposure to cleaning chemicals.Capacity to perform repetitive physical tasks efficiently and safely.Skills and Abilities:Strong attention to detail with the ability to inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness, readiness, safety, and quality.Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and follow up on assignments in a fast-paced hotel environment.Reliable, professional, and team-oriented leadership style with the ability to coach, support, and hold team members accountable to hotel standards.Clear communication skills, including the ability to share instructions, follow up with team members, and coordinate with other departments.Guest service mindset with the ability to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused when supporting guests and team members.Ability to work independently, support team performance, and partner effectively with housekeeping, front office, engineering, and leadership teams.Availability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as scheduled; overtime will be handled according to hotel policy and applicable law.Knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning standards, inspection practices, safety procedures, and hotel service standards; willingness to complete required supervisory, safety, sanitation, and guest service training.Compensation Disclosure: The posted pay range reflects the actual compensation for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws.
