Purpose of the Role

Reading Vitality Hotel is looking for a Housekeeping Manager with excellent customer service skills to join our team. This role will supervise the housekeeping staff, ensuring high standards in guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and lobbies. The Housekeeping Manager reports to the Head of Hotel Operations and collaborates with them to maintain high housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise housekeeping and laundry staff, including performance evaluations, training, and development
  • Assist in developing the department's annual budget
  • Participate in cost control for staffing, inventories, and supplies
  • Enforce departmental policies and procedures
  • Ensure quality service and guest satisfaction
  • Direct hourly staff and contract labor
  • Prepare daily assignment sheets
  • Maintain cleanliness standards in guest rooms and public areas
  • Inspect rooms and report issues, ensuring standards are met
  • Manage guest feedback and service scores
  • Oversee inventory and supply ordering
  • Conduct regular inspections of all areas
  • Maintain departmental keys and deep cleaning programs
  • Complete projects as assigned by leadership
Qualifications and Skills
  • Ability to interpret policies and make informed decisions
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to handle interruptions and changing priorities
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Preferred bilingual in English/Spanish
Physical and Other Requirements

Must be able to lift 25 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in various conditions. Ability to work weekends and holidays is required. Reasonable accommodations will be made for disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 4 years of related hotel experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and commute to the site
