Overview

The Housekeeping Manager oversees the Housekeeping Department to ensure attentive, friendly, efficient, and courteous service, providing guests with a clean, safe environment and managing expenses effectively to maximize service quality.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain a courteous, helpful attitude towards guests, managers, and staff at all times.
  2. Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, complaints, and problems, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  3. Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline housekeeping staff following Highgate Hotel SOPs.
  4. Ensure adherence to Standard of the Week training and effective training procedures.
  5. Implement and maintain a regular cleaning schedule and detailed checklists for staff.
  6. Manage housekeeping equipment and ensure proper maintenance.
  7. Comply with all corporate risk management standards, including MSDS and HazCom.
  8. Coordinate large guestroom turnovers efficiently.
  9. Follow departmental opening and closing procedures consistently.
  10. Carry a pager at all times for communication.
  11. Conduct interviews and participate in hiring processes according to SOPs.
  12. Develop employee morale and ensure ongoing training.
  13. Inspect rooms daily, including VIP rooms prior to guest arrival.
  14. Maintain cleanliness standards in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
  15. Manage inventory and ordering of supplies and amenities.
  16. Conduct regular inventories of housekeeping and laundry supplies.
  17. Protect guest privacy and security by following hotel procedures.
  18. Monitor work orders, coordinate with Engineering, and follow up on completion.
  19. Lead pre-shift meetings and provide ongoing training.
