Job summary

Premier Healthcare Consultants is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the housekeeping services at the facility in Alabama. The role focuses on managing staff, ensuring rooms, bathrooms and common areas are cleaned to facility standards, and maintaining schedules and supplies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of housekeeping or laundry experience in an institutional setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe storage of housekeeping supplies away from residents.
• Supervise waste disposal, including bio-hazardous waste, per policy.
• May perform duties during emergencies or staffing shortages.

Housekeeping Supervisor

SUMMARY

Supervises the housekeeping services at the facility.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of housekeeping and/or laundry experience in an institutional setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Recruits, hires, provides orientation/training, and retains a sufficient number of qualified staff to carry out the responsibilities of the housekeeping functions. Ensures employee performance meets or exceeds expectations and periodic performance appraisals are conducted on a timely basis.
• Ensuring resident rooms, bathrooms and common areas daily are cleaned (dusted, dry mopped, wet mopped, sanitized, scrubbed) according to facility procedures.
• Overseeing the cleaning of walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxing of floors according to department procedures and cleaning schedules.
• Ensuring housekeeping supplies are kept out of reach of residents at all times.
• Supervising the disposal of trash and waste, including bio-hazardous waste and other materials that require special handling, only in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• May occasionally perform the above housekeeping duties in cases of emergency or staffing shortages.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises the Housekeeping staff, Laundry staff, Floor Techs, and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible. Completes annual evaluations for potential merit increases for direct reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT

Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk and hear. May occasionally lift or move items of up to 50 pounds. Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
