Position Overview

Job Summary

The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for performing daily activities of the Environmental Services Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment as directed by the Executive Director or Environmental Services Supervisor.

Roles And Responsibilities

1. Follow work/cleaning schedules closely.
2. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor within 24 hours, regardless of severity.
3. Attend scheduled in-service educational classes and training programs.
4. Participate in annual OSHA and CDC training on hazard communication, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens.
5. Maintain adequate supplies in utility/janitorial closets.
6. Report burned out lights and other maintenance issues promptly.
7. Assist in lifting heavy equipment or supplies as needed.
8. Clean and store equipment properly after use.
9. Perform daily environmental services tasks as assigned, including cleaning fixtures, floors, carpets, walls, and windows.
10. Ensure proper disposal of waste and infectious materials.
11. Perform infection control cleaning procedures.
12. Keep work areas clean and equipment stored properly.

Qualifications

High School / GED required.

Physical Requirements

Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting at least 50 lbs. Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
