Job summary

Belmont Health and Rehabilitation in Columbus, Indiana is seeking Housekeeping and Laundry Assistants to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.

You will secure soiled linen hampers, transport to laundry, keep areas tidy, and ensure supplies and carts are properly stored. This role requires reading and writing in English, good communication, physical stamina, and the ability to follow schedules.

Qualifications

• Completion of elementary education or ability to read, write and follow directions in English.
• Ability to read and write in English, communicate with residents and staff, and stay calm under stress.
• Bending, lifting, walking, grasping, and other physical requirements are necessary.

Responsibilities

• To secure soiled linen hampers and soiled personal clothing from designated areas and transport to laundry.
• To ensure work areas are clean, safe, comfortable, and clearly signed as required.
• To ensure areas are free of hazards and that equipment, chemicals, and supplies are stored securely.
• To sort, fold, and distribute clean laundry, linens, and garments to residents and linen carts.
• To follow the work and cleaning schedules and maintain carts and storage areas.
• To keep equipment and supply carts clean and properly stored.
