Job summary

The Waters of Columbia City is seeking a Part-Time Housekeeping/Laundry Aide to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents. You will clean resident rooms, common areas, and dining spaces and assist with laundry as needed.

Under the Director of Housekeeping, you will follow established policies, participate in in-services, and cooperate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or sufficient knowledge and education to perform job functions.
• Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
• Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, offices, and common areas; maintain a safe, attractive environment.
• Vacuum, wipe, mop, polish, and arrange furniture as directed.
• Follow weekly cleaning and dining area schedules.
• Sanitize bathrooms and windows; observe sanitation rules.
• Work with Director of Housekeeping and interdisciplinary team.
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Housekeeping.

Now Hiring - Part Time Housekeeping/Laundry Aide

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Housekeeping, the Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning resident rooms and other interior and exterior facility areas and assisting in maintaining a clean and attractive environment for the residents. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.

Reports to work as scheduled. Attends all mandatory in-services by employee’s anniversary date

Complies with all facility policies and procedures

Acts appropriately under the direction of the Director of Housekeeping and acts as a part of the interdisciplinary team

Cleans and straightens (including vacuuming, wiping, moping, polishing, etc.) rooms, offices, and common areas; polish and remove items; ensure resident’s rooms are safe, comfortable and maintained in an attractive manner

Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in shift assignments to meet facility needs

Cleans and sanitizes areas of responsibility according to facility policy and procedure

Moves and arranges residents furniture and equipment as directed by the supervisor

Cleans residents dining areas at the completion of meal service and adheres to weekly cleaning schedule of the dining area

Cleans and sanitizes resident bathrooms and common bath areas

Cleans and maintains windows and wall in resident rooms and common areas

Complies with weekly departmental cleaning schedule

Adheres to all cleaning chemical hazards as indicated on supplies

Observes rules of sanitation at all times

Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions

Other duties as assigned by Director of Housekeeping

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Possess a high school diploma or sufficient knowledge and education to perform job functions

Understand and carry out oral and written directions

Is capable of setting work priorities and working independently in the absence of supervision

Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required

Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations
