Job summary

Echoing Hills Village, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper/Laundry to maintain a clean, safe environment for individuals served, staff and visitors. You will perform housekeeping and laundry tasks and support infection control.

The role requires following safety procedures, lifting up to 45 pounds, and flexible shifts, including weekends. CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days and a valid driver’s license are required for meetings and training.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain supplies and keep areas organized and safe.

Job Summary:

The Housekeeper/Laundry position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for individuals served, employees, and visitors. This role performs housekeeping and laundry duties, supports infection control and safety practices, maintains facility standards, and assists with compliance and regulatory requirements. Through compassionate service and attention to detail, the Housekeeper/Laundry position helps create an environment where individuals served and employees can thrive.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize individuals' rooms, common areas, treatment areas, restrooms, and other assigned spaces while following established infection control procedures.
• Perform routine and deep-cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, walls, fixtures, windows, furniture, equipment, and other assigned areas.
• Safely operate cleaning equipment and properly handle cleaning supplies, chemicals, and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Complete laundry services for individuals served and the facility, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, organizing, and returning clothing, linens, and other items according to established procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping supplies, equipment, and work areas in an organized and safe manner.
• Monitor housekeeping and laundry supply inventory, report supply needs, and communicate equipment, maintenance, or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
• Assist with compliance requirements, regulatory audits, safety procedures, and regulatory surveys.
• Participate in fire, tornado, and other emergency drills and follow established emergency, universal precaution, infection control, and safety procedures.
• Follow and adhere to Individuals' Rights regulations and promptly report safety, compliance, or other concerns.
• Assist with Ministry fundraisers, committees, special projects, and other organizational activities as assigned.
• Assist with operations during emergency situations and provide support to other departments and Ministry leadership as needed.

Work Conditions:

• Work is primarily performed within a facility and may occasionally include indoor and outdoor environments or other locations as assigned.
• Schedule may include various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Requires prolonged standing and frequent reaching, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, and other physical activity.
• Must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds independently.Exposure to cleaning chemicals and cleaning machinery; appropriate PPE and safety procedures must be followed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred; experience in a healthcare or IDD environment preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow directions, safety policies, and departmental procedures.
• CPR and First Aid certification required within 60 days of hire.
• Valid driver's license, insurable driving record according to Ministry insurance requirements, and reliable transportation required for meetings, training events, and other organizational needs.
