Job summary

Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront is seeking a Room Inspector to verify guest rooms, corridors and public areas meet cleanliness and repair standards. You will inspect completed work, release rooms for arrivals, and coach room attendants on quality and efficiency.

The role requires the ability to train staff, communicate safety concerns, and support front desk with room status updates while working a full-time schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

They inspect completed work, release rooms for arrival, coach room attendants on quality and efficiency, and communicate maintenance and safety issues promptly.Essential Job FunctionsInspect assigned guest rooms after cleaning to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, and amenities are clean, complete, and in good repair.Verify and update the status of rooms throughout the shift and reconcile discrepant rooms with the Front Desk.Release clean rooms in priority order to support arrivals and guest requests.Provide efficient and objective feedback to room attendants to drive efficiency and quality within the housekeeping department.Train and coach room attendants on cleaning standards, productivity expectations, and proper use of equipment and chemicals.Ensure that all associates have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms, including nametags and designated PPE.Reinforce safety standards consistently, identify associates engaging in unsafe behaviors, and report unsafe conditions immediately.Assist with accident and incident reporting and follow-up steps to help prevent future accidents.Notify the maintenance department of repairs necessary and follow up to completion.Monitor cleanliness of corridors, public areas, exterior entrances, and the parking lot.Perform housekeeping duties as needed, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning.Perform opening and closing shift duties.Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Other duties as assigned.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
