Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts in Evanston, IL is seeking an energetic Housekeeping Attendant to help maintain our guest rooms and public spaces to high standards. This unionized position requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

You will assist with linen handling, cleaning supplies, and timely delivery of items to guest rooms, while maintaining guest privacy and safety procedures. Previous hotel housekeeping experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel, housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or similar experience preferred.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Basic English communication skills; multilingual skills are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Stock housekeeping carts, linen closets, and supply areas with linens, towels, guest amenities, and cleaning products.
• Collect and transport soiled linens, trash, and recyclables from guest floors to designated areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of hallways, stairwells, service landings, vending areas, and housekeeping closets.
• Follow established cleaning and safety procedures, and report maintenance concerns as needed.
• Assist room attendants with heavy items, extra linens, and guest requests.

Here Is What You Will Be Doing Each Day
In this role, you will be responsible for the cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, and stairwells and assist Room Attendants in order to maintain the hotel’s high standards of cleanliness and quality. You will be lifting and sorting bundles of linen and work with the laundry to provide supplies to the room attendants. This includes but not limited to:

• Stock housekeeping carts, linen closets, and supply areas with linens, towels, guest amenities, and cleaning products.
• Collect and transport soiled linens, trash, and recyclables from guest floors to designated areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of hallways, stairwells, service landings, vending areas, and housekeeping closets.

• Follow our carpet cleaning program.
• Assist room attendants with heavy items, extra linens, rollaway beds, cribs, and other guest requests.
• Deliver requested items to guest rooms promptly and courteously.
• Use, store, and label cleaning products and equipment in accordance with hotel procedures and safety guidelines.
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged items, safety hazards, and lost-and-found items to the appropriate supervisor.
• Respond professionally to guest questions and requests while protecting guest privacy.
• Follow hotel security, emergency, sanitation, and infection-prevention procedures.
• Support deep-cleaning projects and other housekeeping duties as assigned.

• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
• Professional, respectful, and guest-focused communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safely use cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Basic English communication skills; multilingual skills are welcome.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Ability to push and maneuver housekeeping carts and equipment safely.
