Fleshers Fairview Health Care Center is looking for a dependable housekeeper to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for residents. The role requires thoroughness and attention to detail, coordinating tasks within a specific time frame.
The position involves cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, dining areas, and corridors, restocking supplies, and promptly reporting equipment issues. Adherence to safety and infection-control procedures is expected.
Reports to: Environmental Service Director
Provide a clean and sanitary environment for the residents. They must be thorough in their work and pay attention to details. May need to coordinate skills to perform numerous duties within a specific time‑frame.
Mop, broom/dust mop, vacuum cleaner, housekeeping cart.
Inside: 90% Outside: 10%
Education: Less than high school education, or up to one‑month related experience or training preferred.
Language Skills: Be able to read, write and understand the English language. Be able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information one‑on‑one to residents or residents’ families and other employees of the organization.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and peripheral vision.
Work surfaces include carpeting, tile, and linoleum. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
Bloodborne Pathogens: Tasks and procedures performed by the employee involve risks classified by CDC as Category II (activity performed without blood exposure, but exposure may occur in emergency) and Category III (task/activity does not entail predictable or unpredictable exposure to blood). This position typically does not involve Category I exposure risk; however, if the employee is trained in first aid, some emergency procedures may entail Category I exposure risk. Refer to the Exposure Control Plan for additional information. The employee will be exposed to inside environmental conditions, outside environmental conditions, chemical hazards, respiratory and skin hazards due to chemical use.
