Job summary

Ocean Community YMCA in Mystic, CT is seeking a dependable Custodial Staff member to keep our facilities clean and welcoming for members, participants, and staff. This part-time role offers evening hours and pays $16.94 per hour.

You will clean restrooms, locker rooms, offices and common spaces, restock supplies, and report maintenance concerns to the supervisor. Prior custodial experience and ability to work independently are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Dependable and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail.
• Ability to interact professionally with YMCA members and staff.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, offices, program areas, and common spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and clean surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling containers.
• Clean entrances, walkways, parking areas, and other spaces.
• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies.
• Maintain custodial storage areas.
• Follow established cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor.

Job description

The Ocean Community YMCA is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodial Staff member to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members, participants, and employees.

Schedule and Compensation:

• Part-time (12-15hrs per week)


• Hours- Weekdays 3:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.


• Pay rate: $16.94 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, offices, program areas, and common spaces.


• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and clean surfaces throughout the facility.


• Empty trash and recycling containers and complete exterior trash pickup.


• Clean entrances, walkways, parking areas, and other assigned spaces.


• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies.


• Maintain clean and organized custodial storage areas.


• Follow established cleaning, sanitation, and safety procedures.


• Identify and report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to the supervisor

Qualifications:

• Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
