Job description

Position Overview

This position will assist in overall sustainability practices, set-up and clean-up of Walton Arts Center, activities to include interacting with patrons when they attend shows. This seasonal part‑time role is event based and primarily scheduled on nights including weekends. Example shifts would be 5 pm to 10 pm and 5 pm to 1 am.

Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Keep the venue safe and clean at all times, including by not limited to: clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, mirrors, doors and walls of restrooms, keep all guest‑facing area free of trash, restock restroom paper materials and hygiene products as needed.
• Execute work according to housekeeping schedule. Work may include but is not limited to cleaning restrooms, floor maintenance, and refuse disposal.
• Execute set up of events according to events schedule and strike event setups as scheduled.
• Maintain working relationship with users of Walton Arts Center and Walmart AMP.
• Work closely with Facilities Team to create a shared vision of the facilities and work to be accomplished.
• Participate in the venue’s sustainability program which could include implementing programs that conserve resources/prevent waste such as sorting waste and collecting recycling and educating our fans about our efforts.
• Sorting and separating recycling and compostable products from landfill waste.
• Recording of weight and landfill diversion rates.
• Provide support to groundskeeper as needed to maintain exterior standards of cleanliness.
• Any and all other tasks assigned by management for which the employee is qualified and physically able to perform with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Must possess knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Must be able to work in an environment with loud music, noises, pyrotechnics, and cannons as part of the show.
• Represent Walton Arts Center / Walmart AMP at both on‑ and off‑site events, as requested.
• Maintain professional working relationships with teammates, fellow staff members from other departments, vendors, patrons, and tenants of leased spaces.
• Maintain security and safety requirements as defined by operations guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Work Experience

• Preferred experience in custodial, janitorial and housekeeping roles.

Physical

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly (on telephone).
• Must have a working cell phone and be willing to install basic applications and use it for work purposes.
• Must be able to endure sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to endure standing or walking for extended periods of time on various surfaces such as concrete, grass, and inclined surfaces.
• Must be able to endure outdoor elements including cold, heat, wind, and/or precipitation.
• Must be able to work in large, crowded environments, with flashing lights, loud music and noises, pyrotechnics, and cannons as part of shows and events.
