Senior TLC in Gastonia, NC is seeking a Housekeeping Cleaner with PCA duties to support in-home care. The role includes general cleaning and patient care tasks as directed, reporting to the Home Care Agency Supervisor.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, at least 1 year’s experience with frail elderly individuals, a valid NC driver’s license, and training in defensive driving, first aid, and CPR.

• Wipes, dusts, vacuums; cleans floors and empties trash.
• Handles linens, loads laundry and makes beds; replaces linens as needed.
• Notifies maintenance for non-working items in commercial properties.
• Assists with plan of care tasks and on-call rotation for home care.

Job Summary: The Housekeeping Cleaner is responsible for general cleaning and maintenance duties, which may include vacuuming, dusting, taking trash out, laundry and other cleaning as assigned. In the Personal Care Aide (PCA) role, this position performs patient care and activities In-Home as directed. This position reports directly to the Home Care Agency Supervisor.

Specifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Minimum of 1 years’ experience working with the frail elderly population.

Number and Type of Employees Supervised (optional): None

Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Valid NC Driver's License, Proof of Insurance and safe driving record. Upon employment, defensive driving course, first aid and CPR are required

Special Training: Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. Only act within the scope of his or her authority to practice. Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by Senior TLC and approved by CMS before working independently.

Immunizations:Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up to date before engaging in direct participant contact

Key Responsibilities: (*denotes an age-related skill or task)

• Provides personal care to participants at Senior TLC or In Home: (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, transfers, lifting, ambulation and incontinent care according to the participants plan of care
• Performs incidental household services which are essential to the participants care at home and according to their plan of care. Services include but are not exclusive to meal prep, housekeeping, laundry, grocery & errands in addition to personal care.
• Cleans and disinfects bathrooms. Stocks towels, washcloths, and hand towels in bathrooms.
• Cleans and disinfects kitchen and dining areas. Washes dishes, utensils, glasses, pots, and pans.
• Wipes and dusts surfaces in rooms and cleans mirrors. Vacuums and cleans floors and rugs. Picks up and empties trash containers.
• Removes linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets. Loads washers and dryers and folds clothes, sheets and towels in laundry room as needed. Places and neatly tucks clean sheets and blankets on beds and replaces pillowcases.
• In commercial property, notifies maintenance if something is not working properly.

• Assists with tasks on a plan of care for Participants in the center and/or in the home that have been taught by the appropriate professional personnel.
• Prepares and or serves simple meals according to participant’s specific diets.
• Obtains vital signs and weights per plan of care and as ordered by the physician.
• Documents services provided and observations on appropriate forms. Reports changes in medical or physical status to supervisor
• Assists participant with reminders of self-administration of medications which are ordered by their provider and according to their plan of care.
• Attends staff meetings, and complies with competencies per STLC policies
• Participates in on-call rotation for home care for weekdays and weekends.
