World Spa in Brooklyn is seeking a Housekeeping Attendant to orient guests, greet them, and deliver personal guest service within a fast-paced spa and lounge setting.

Responsibilities include keeping the locker rooms clean, stocking supplies, issuing lockers and towels, answering guest questions, and promoting spa treatments and retail offerings.

Minimum 2 years of hospitality experience preferred; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work well in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in hospitality or related field.
• Hospitality experience in hotel is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship with positive attitude and ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Physically capable of cleaning tasks that may involve crouching, bending, lifting and carrying trash.
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

World Spa Lounge offerings represent the same regions as the Spa: Eastern European, Mediterranean, Asian and American. BIRCH&OAK is a VIP area with its own Bar and Restaurant, outdoor terrace that can be enjoyed by the Members during their Spa visit or on its own.

In addition to the three dining venues, World Spa features 2 exclusive Private Rooms that have their own sauna for groups of 22 and 15 guests.

Position Summary:

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for orienting guests to the spa facilities, greeting guests as they enter the facilities, and providing personal guest service. They are responsible for keeping the lounge, locker room, and other guest areas neat, clean and stocked with all amenities. They also ensure the cleanliness and functioning of the locker rooms within the Spa.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized spa environment through consistent monitoring of the locker/facility area.

• Gather, wash, dry, and fold linens as needed

• Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and locker room amenities

• Empty and remove trash as needed

• Keep equipment, closets and dispensaries clean and organized

• Provide exceptional service to all clients at all times through customer-centric behavior

• Spot clean locker rooms, including shower, sink, and lavatory areas frequently throughout each day in compliance with OSHA standards and club protocols

• Issue spa lockers, robes and slippers to guests and then escort guests to their lockers.

• Provide orientation tours, explaining spa amenities offered and answering guests’ questions.

• Stock locker room supplies and amenities and maintain accurate supply lists and inventory sheets.

• Ensures adequate stock of supplies and equipment; inform management when stock is low.

• Address locks left on or items left in lockers outside of locker policy to ensure proper locker availability.

• Review guest appointments/schedules as needed.

• Answer the phone promptly and use the guest’s name throughout the phone conversation; operate the phone system accurately and efficiently.

• Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.

• Maintain eye contact when addressing external and internal guests; develop professional and personalized relationships with regular guests.

• Maintain complete confidentiality in all guest matters in accordance with company policy;

• Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.

• Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.

• Be on time for shifts and maintain a consistent, regular attendance record.

• Utilize spa computers with skill and proficiency; document guest information in electronic record as directed.

• Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time.

• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.

• Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.

• Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.

• Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.

Skills, Abilities and Experience:
