Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Housekeeping staff member for Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hazleton. The role focuses on maintaining environmental and infection control standards within established policies to support patient care and non-patient care areas.

Responsibilities include trash removal, routine floor cleaning, dusting, polishing surfaces, and coordinating with other departments to ensure clean and safe environments.

Qualifications

• Experience as housing aide: less than 1 year to 1 year.
• Ability to adhere to safety procedures and protocols.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean environment at all times.
• Knowledge of methods of cleaning guest rooms and operation of laundry services.

• Straightens and picks up trash in restrooms, sinks, showers, toilets, plumbing fixtures, mirrors, and surfaces, and replenishes soap and paper products.
• Vacuums carpets, sweeps and mops floors on a routine basis.
• Dusts vents and polishes all furniture in common areas and patients rooms daily.
• Cleans and polishes fire extinguishers and ice machines weekly.
• Coordinates housekeeping services with other departments.
• Cleans all bathrooms and toilet bowls daily.

Summary

Job Duties

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED

Physical Demands

Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
