Job summary

The Ridge Post Acute in San Jose, CA is seeking a dependable Housekeeping Staff member to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. No prior experience is required and on-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities include cleaning resident rooms, common areas, and surfaces; maintaining floors; and following infection control and safety guidelines. You will report safety concerns and coordinate with other departments while respecting resident

Qualifications

• No prior housekeeping experience required; training provided.
• Ability to follow instructions and facility cleaning procedures.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work around elderly residents in a healthcare setting.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, push and pull during shift; lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and other surfaces.
• Clean furniture, windows, mirrors, and fixtures.
• Empty trash and dispose of waste according to facility procedures.
• Clean and prepare rooms for new residents.
• Follow infection control, sanitation, and chemical safety guidelines.
• Use cleaning supplies and equipment properly and safely.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and supply shortages to the supervisor.
• Respect residents' privacy, belongings, and confidentiality.
• Follow assigned cleaning schedules and work with other departments as needed.
