Chestnut Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable Housekeeping Aide to join our Environmental Services team on-site. You will help maintain a sanitary, comfortable environment for residents, families, and staff, supporting infection prevention efforts.

The role offers daily pay options and opportunities to advance within environmental services. Previous housekeeping experience is preferred, and attention to detail is essential for a clean and safe facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and infection control procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Restock supplies and ensure hygiene dispensers are full.
• Handle waste and maintain cleanliness of offices, hallways, stairs, and entrances.
• Follow infection control procedures and established cleaning schedules.
• Maintain and report equipment conditions and supply needs.

What You’ll Do

• Clean floors by sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping, wet mopping, and disinfecting
• Clean and polish furniture, fixtures, ledges, and heating/cooling units
• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas
• Clean windows, mirrors, walls, and ceilings as assigned
• Deodorize, disinfect, and spot-clean carpets and upholstered surfaces
• Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and transport waste to designated disposal areas
• Refill soap, paper towel, toilet tissue, and hygiene dispensers
• Clean offices, hallways, stairways, elevators, and entrance areas
• Clean and prepare vacant rooms for new admissions
• Follow established cleaning schedules and infection control procedures
• Maintain equipment in good working condition and report hazardous conditions promptly
• Properly clean and store equipment at the end of each shift
• Inform supervisors of supply needs and inventory shortages
• Replace burned-out light bulbs in assigned work areas as needed
• Cross-train in laundry services when required
• Attend departmental meetings and in-service training sessions
• Practice safe work habits at all times
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and protect resident rights
• Perform other duties as assigned
